Eligibility and Selection Criteria 2024

The Squash NSW Junior Performance Pathways provides a structured program for junior players within NSW to develop their skills as a squash player.

The program gives players the opportunity to participate in the performance pathways for eligibility and selection in the Squash NSW Junior State Team to represent NSW at the Australian Junior Championships.

In 2024, the Australian Junior Championships will be held in New South Wales September – October 2024.

Players wishing to be considered, and eligible for selection into the Squash NSW Junior State Team must meet the below eligibility & Selection criteria and on the 1st of August complete the Squash NSW Junior Performance Pathway Registration form online.

Squash NSW Junior State Team selection is announced during presentation at the completion of the Squash NSW Junior State Championships.

2024 Eligibility & Selection criteria will commence on 1st August 2023 and concluded at the NSW State Championships in July 2024.

NSW STATE TEAM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The Eligibility Criteria for the Squash NSW Junior State Team are: 

Memberships

  • Financial member of Squash NSW

Registration

  • Attend Squash NSW Junior Performance Pathway registration day and/or complete
    registration form at online.

Tournaments

  • 2 x Bronze tournaments (2 x NSW Bronze events)
  • 2 x Silver tournaments (2 x NSW Silver events)
  • 1 x 2024 Squash NSW Junior State Championships.

Pathway Camps

  • 2 x Regional Pathway Camps (1 day camp)
  • 2 x State Pathway Camps (2 day camp)
  • State Team Camp - 1 x camp (selected NSW State Team members only

U/13s and Above Age Group


Behavioural
Demonstration of exemplary behaviours and sportsmanship on and off the court over the last 12 months.

 

Exemptions

Exemptions to the eligibility criteria may be considered on receival of a completed Exemption Application Form which must be sent to the NSW Junior State Coach/Selection Committee prior to Squash NSW Junior State Championships commencing.

Please advise the Squash NSW Junior State Coach in writing of any possible issues as soon as possible.

Conditions under which exemptions will be considered are as follows, and evidence is mandatory:

  1. Health & Medical issues
  2. Short term injury
  3. National Selection
  4. Financial hardship
  5. International tournaments

 

NSW STATE TEAM SELECTION CRITERIA

Eligible players will be considered for selection in the State Representative Team based on:

  • Performance Benchmark rating
  • State junior ranking
  • Australian junior ranking
  • Results achieved in junior tournaments from August 1st, 2023- up to and including the State Junior Championships 2024.
