Squash NSW will be running a number of coaching courses this year to increase the amount of coaches across the state and to further the skills of current coaches.

Coaches at all levels play a crucial role in ensuring that squash is an enjoyable experience for everyone, as well as laying the foundation for the development of better players. Participants of these clinics will learn to plan, conduct and evaluate training programs suitable for a diverse range of ages and abilities.

At present we have two dates confirmed:

  • 27-28 March: Gerringong Squash Club
  • 3-4 July: Northmead Squash Club

Clinics will be run by National Squash Assessor and Performance Squash Coach, Grant Gough. Grant is a Level 3 coach/assessor/presenter and is the current national educator for Squash Australia. He has been a professional squash coach since 1982 and during this time has gained a wealth of experience and achievements including: two time NSW squash coach of the year, 2008 Australian squash coach of the year, CHS state coach for close to 20 years and two time coach of the Australian Junior Mens Team.

The clinics will certify coaches as a Level 1 Club Development Coach with Squash Australia. There are no pre-requisites or previous coaching experience needed, you just need to enjoy squash and be able to bring your own equipment.

The two -day course costs $299, which includes lunch on both days as well as coach certification with Squash Australia. Certification is valid for 4 years, after which it can be renewed annually.

Limited spaces are available, please email [email protected] to find out more.
